about
Where do we begin?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2012, and while I went on to work at a concert venue, mortgage company, investment firm, and mechanical contractor, nothing could keep me from a keyboard and blank Google doc. After creating an original column for a now-defunct music website (RIP Noisetrend), I wrote career profiles and a music column for The Everygirl and later produced lifestyle and entertainment content for websites like Gapyear.com, Elite Daily, and Literally, Darling. In 2017, I saw my name in physical print for the first time in the debut issue of what was easily the prettiest publication ever, Whitespace Magazine. In addition to copy editing, I was the head writer for the follow-up issue, writing four of the five feature articles. During a brief (but brilliant) move to Melbourne, Australia, I grew curious about learning to code. I completed Code Like a Girl's Foundations of Web Development course in early 2021. That same year, I joined the Brand Studio team at Built In as a staff writer, telling stories about tech companies and the people behind them. Wondering what I've written? Want to be my real-life friend?
We'll get there. You should know I'm a fiend for crosswords (though I can only finish Monday/Tuesday puzzles), I often wait years before watching finale episodes of my favorite tv shows, and I learned my way into becoming a Cubs fan. As for thin crust pizza... Want to be my Internet friend? I'm on Twitter, Instagram, and Spotify. Your move. Where do you make that move? Here. |
